Environmental charity changes its name

An environmental charity has changed its name to better reflect its work, values and the communities it serves, the charity has said.

Cumbria Action for Sustainability has become Futureproof Cumbria, changed its logo and updated its website.

The charity works to help the Cumbria community tackle the climate crisis by promoting action and supporting change.

Futureproof Cumbria said its new name gave the charity a strong and forward-looking presence, which would help it reach more people, inspire more action and make a bigger impact.

The charity said it spent £7,500 on updating its website because it was no longer fit for purpose.

The charity said it delivered the rebrand almost entirely in-house from its conception to delivery using its existing team’s marketing, design and digital skills to keep costs to a minimum.

“Technical aspects like the website have been covered by existing project budgets as part of their delivery,” a charity spokesperson said. “No donations have been used to fund it.”

The rebrand took 18 months to complete.

“The name Futureproof Cumbria reflects exactly what we stand for: helping homes, businesses and communities across Cumbria get ready for a low-carbon future,” the charity said.

“Our new identity brings a fresh, modern feel that reflects the ambition and optimism we have for Cumbria’s future.

“It’s designed to be more engaging, more recognisable, and a representation of the work we do every day.”
